What do you want to do after graduation?

Please describe the contents of your graduation portfolio

I want to work in the commercial media and work on my personal art projects after graduation, in particular concepting, post-production, machinima and lighting.

My graduation film, my research paper, and a short experimental photo-serie as a visual reference during my concepting phase for the graduation film,

Please elaborate on your first initial ideas.

What kind of research are you going to do?

My first initial idea was to use projection mapping in order to tell a experimental story in reverse. You would start at the end, and move all the way to the beginning. The viewer would be sucked into a cluedo type story, a classical whodunnit. It would be up to the viewer to find out who comitted the murder. I wanted to express this through a audio diary and by projection mapping visuals on a cube.

How social isolations are portrayed in movies, and compare that data with social isolations in real life.

Welke onderzoeksmethoden wil je toepassen?

literature review, questionnaire, interview, surveys

Describe your final research paper.

What makes your film 'yours'?

A research paper, written in english, bound in a booklet.

The fact that I always strive to embed some kind of technological aspect in my film.

What are your personal weaknesses?

Hammering too long on a particular subject. I am better aware of this now.

What is your research question?

How are social isolations portrayed in motion pictures, and how do these portrayals withold compared to a real case of social isolation?

What kind of effect are you going for with your film?

Create confusion, thus creating a link with real life. Isolated humans are often misunderstood or underestimated. This creates confusion. I want people to rewatch the film a second time in order to process what they've just seen. The viewer has to do significant effort in order to understand the story, just like in real life.
